                Compared
to many uses of our coastal waters and rivers, recreational boating
                and marinas are relatively “clean”.
Scientific studies done around the country frequently show
that the impacts of boating activities and facilities are difficult,
if not impossible, to actually measure because they are so small
compared to the other major sources of water pollution.
These other sources include storm water runoff from developed
areas and agricultural lands and discharges from industry and
                waste water treatment plants.
